5 tips for negotiating your salary

Post by Bappy12 »

Can I get a job after obtaining a professional certificate? This is something that many people ask themselves before and after obtaining it, and based on my own experience the answer is yes, and here I will tell you how.

First, I will talk a little about what they are and how to obtain them. Professional Certificates are documents that certify the set of professional skills that enable the development of an identifiable work activity in the productive system without this constituting regulation of professional practice, and there are several ways to obtain it:

Article updated in August 2022

1- From work experience or other training:
This means that if you have experience in a sector from having worked in it for years and when you leave that job you cannot look for something in that sector again because you do not have studies that accredit it, you can obtain a professional certificate to be able to do so, although it is not obtained automatically. So how do you obtain it?

Through vocational training centres you can request your accreditation in a professional certificate based on a new model of accreditation of competencies. I leave you the information in the information dossier of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.

2- Through a training course as in my case:
The courses offered to obtain the professional certificate are managed by the different Autonomous Employment Services and are usually aimed at people who are mainly unemployed, so it is necessary to be registered as unemployed. It is a good way to add knowledge if you have not studied anything in particular or if you cannot find employment in what you have studied or do not want to continue working in it, opening up new avenues of employment.

My experience:
In my case, when I signed up for unemployment, they recommended that I sign up for a course, since it would help me find work, and that's what I did. Normally, the courses are expensive, but here at Femxa I discovered free courses with varied and interesting topics that also offer a certificate. I signed up for a course on Interactive Multimedia Audiovisual Product Development (IMSV0209), which was focused on learning how to use the Adobe package, with which you can perform graphic design and digital marketing tasks. When I did it, I have to say that I learned a lot and with the classes I went from not having any idea about the subject to knowing quite a few things and being able to dedicate myself professionally to it. After doing the theoretical part, I did some internships with which I learned to use the knowledge in the workplace and when I finished I was lucky that after a while the same company called me to work there.

There are multiple topics and specific courses to train you with professional certificates .

I was an emergency technician for 4 years, which used to be basic and advanced, I got the professional certificate and it hasn't helped me at all, they tell me that I need the official TTS qualification. So after spending a lot of money getting the certificate, now I'm spending more money to get the official qualification, because the certificate wasn't enough for me, all the companies told me that they were forced to take official TTS, not with the professional certificate...

Hello:
Our recommendation is that the next time you want to validate a qualification or find out the equivalences between training, you go to the SEPE and get advice from an advisor.
Thank you very much for your contribution.
Best regards.
