The Government, autonomous communities, unions and business organisations have reached an agreement to simplify the process of registering young people for the Youth Guarantee Programme , reducing formalities and making access requirements more flexible. In this post, we summarise the main new features incorporated in Royal Decree-Law 6/2016 of 23 December 2016 for all those interested in being part of the Youth Guarantee file, which are now summarised in a single procedure: registering for unemployment.
All young people who meet the access requirements will be automatically enrolled in the Youth Guarantee Programme by registering as job seekers in the state and regional Public Employment Services, without having to complete any other procedure.
Furthermore, from 1 September 2013, the SEPE will be able to retroactively register in the Youth Guarantee all persons who have participated in any of the employment promotion actions and who meet the access requirements.

Admission requirements:
Following the legal modification following the reform, the requirements for access to the Youth Guarantee Programme are as follows:
Have Spanish nationality, be a citizen of the European Union or have a residence permit.
Be registered in Spanish territory.
Be over 16 and under 30 years old (limit not applicable to people with recognized disabilities).
Not having worked the day prior to submitting the application.
Not having carried out educational or training activities on the calendar day prior to the application.
Submit an express declaration of your interest in participating in the Youth Guarantee.
Until now, the regulations were much more restrictive, since in order to qualify, it was necessary to have been 3 months without receiving training or 30 days without having worked.
In order to meet the requirement of not having worked the previous day, it will not be necessary to be registered as a job seeker; all young people who have not worked the previous day will be included, even if they are not registered with the SEPE.

News for companies: reductions become bonuses:
With effect from 1 January 2017, the reductions enjoyed by companies and/or self-employed persons participating in the Youth Guarantee Programme will take the form of bonuses on Social Security contributions when hiring young workers enrolled in this programme.

Good morning, I was on sick leave a month ago due to an injury and the next day I was fired from the company I was working for. Right now the mutual insurance company is taking over my benefits. Being on sick leave but unemployed, can I sign up for the youth guarantee for online courses without this causing me a problem with the mutual insurance company?
